Hi Everyone! My husband and I live on Long Island and we considering getting 2-4 chickens. Our daughter has a severe soy allergy so she is not able to have eggs or poultry because the soy based diet chickens are usually on gets into the meat and eggs and makes her violently sick. The same goes for corn because corn crops are regularly rotated with soybean crops it gets into the corn and makes her sick. So we are looking at getting chickens that we can feed a soy-free, corn-free diet, thus making her life much easier. Can anyone give us some pointers on getting started with our coop and run and where we can purchase supplies, etc, locally? Thanks!
