Hello Everyone!
This site has been great in helping me with a lot of my questions for being a first timer. I have 2 Ameracaunas, they are about 7 months old and have been very generous - giving me eggs everyday (1 per), two 14 week old pullets - Rhode Island Red and Red Star and a 20 week old Buff Cochin. I never imagined how much fun they would be. My Bertha (she's one of the Ameracauna) is very gentle and lets me pick her up and she actually flies on to my shoulder or arm when she sees the chicken scratch container. PJ my buff cochin is also very tame. Gertrude, the other Amercauna is a tad cautious, my 2 pullets, Thelma and Louise are not as friendly right now but in time.....
I live in the Bay Area and I asked my family for the chickens for Mother's Day and it's been the best! Still learning a lot and looking forward to finding out more about these funny creatures.
