New to chickens

Hi Ya'll. Another newbie here. Got my first chickens last November when my daughter brought 4 chicks home from her friend's house. One had a hurt leg. A couple almost froze and the last one she just brought along to be with the group. Not sure what kind they are. As they grew, we realized we had two hens and two roosters. Busy laid her first egg a few days ago WOOHOO!

I got hooked with the first 4. Three months ago, I bought 4 bantams(2 are cochins) the other 2 died. 1 RIR, 1 production red (I don't know what the difference is). 1 Ameracauna, 1 olive easter, 1 buff orpington, one black copper marans. Then I bought a couple of barred rocks. A couple of weeks ago I got another bantam to replace one that died and two top hats and 2 french guineas.

Thank you! I thought I would give the guineas a try. My neighbor had one and I got a big kick out of watching it. I liked hearing its call. I guess a coyote got it tho because all of a sudden I quit hearing it. I am out of town for a couple of days and my daughter just told me one of my little keets died. She said it just looked like he went to sleep and didn't wake up. Can't figure out why.

Awesome! I got mine Feb through March. Getting ready for some eggs next few months . I've got to ask, what did you do with ypur first egg?

Took a picture of it. Not sure if I am gonna eat it or figure out how to save it. Ha! Kind of like framing the first dollar bill you made in a new business.
