You've already been given some good advice on wire so I'll just say hello and thanks for joining us!

Excited to get started on my coop. I have an off ground base about 100 sq ft. What is your favorite chicken wire to keep predators out?
Make sure you put concrete under the dirt surrounding the coop. DO NOT USE CHICKEN WIRE, Most predators can break into chicken wire, and when the predator is done and leaves, the remaining chickens can escape.

Yes, 1/2" hardware cloth securely affixed to a frame, or attached to the lower 18-24" of chain link fencing, to prevent chicks from going thru the openings and keeping raccoon claws & mouths away from the birds. Raccoons will bite off any body part they can snag and are especially clever & persistent about coming back.

A solid run cover will provide safety from raptors, climbers, preds jumping down from branches and offer some shelter & shade from weather extremes.
