New to chickens

Hi y’all, I have male Jersey Giants, from what I am told a large breed. Will they hurt my smaller females if they try and mate? Should I watch out for the girls or try and keep them away?

Welcome... Though it is possible the big boys could hurt your girls, a lot depends on variables regarding the rest of the flock, and their environment.

Thank you! We have 14 girls that are about 6 months and we wanted some roosters. We ordered them from https://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/. We got 4 males (3 jersey Giant and 1 blue lace Wyandotte) and 13 other females. It is pretty much doubling our flock. I’m hoping have all the ladies to choose from they will stay away from the smaller girls.
