New to Chickens

Recently sold my family home in the city and moved to the back country in South Louisiana. I have several acres and hope to have a small hobby farm in several years. I'm starting with chickens. I have 4 RIR and 4 Rocks that are roughly 2 1/2 months. Invested in a local built movable coop but foresee putting up a fenced in yard and making it more permanent for the girls. I'm soaking up all the info I can get my hands on to make life fun and easy for me and my girls.
