New to Chickens!

Hello Everyone!

I have just inherited 7 hens (2 years old) and a lovely gentleman named Stanley from my daughter and her husband who moved across the country. I am a lifelong naturalist, chemistry teacher for 30 years and all-around lover of animals, but I know absolutely nothing about taking care of these new family members.

I've been lurking here for a couple days but it's time to get serious and build a real coop/run. I've learned so much already just reading these forums, thank you so much for having this! It's great to be here and I look forward to the adventure!

Actually easier to go to Home depot buy a shed and put a chicken door .. Make sure to place a hardware cloth apron under it.. Lot's of Ideas in the coop forums here.
