Welcome to BYC. Have you considered raising your chicks in an outdoor brooder inside their coop? They make a whole lot of dust and dander.
We haven't got that far into our planning, but last night when my son and I were talking, my husband didn't sound too pleased when I told him the babies would be inside for a bit before they can be outside.Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
I second @janiedoe's suggestion to raise them out in the coop (with a brooder plate). It is much better and healthier for the chicks (and you!). Mediterranean breeds and any breed with a large comb does well in hot climates.
Hopefully he will fall in love with them. Initially, I was the one who didn't want chickens. Now the chickens are mine.We haven't got that far into our planning, but last night when my son and I were talking, my husband didn't sound too pleased when I told him the babies would be inside for a bit before they can be outside.Knowing this will make him much happier LOL! Thank you both for the suggestion!

"The bright side" and for us the right side.Hopefully he will fall in love with them. Initially, I was the one who didn't want chickens. Now the chickens are mine.
But I'm an animal lover, so it wasn't hard to fall for them. Maybe your husband will come over to the bright side.
