New to chickens!

Hello and welcome to BYC. Glad that you have joined us in this poultry loving community. Cold drafts need to be eliminated if they exist at all during the winter. Chickens depending on breeds can prefer warm weather or cool weather. Some can enjoy either. What breeds do you have?
Honestly, the girls came with the house and the previous owner doesn’t know! Any help identifying would be helpful! One of the grey ones has feathers on her feet!

The white hen looks like a white leghorn to me. I can't tell much about the others. I wouldn't worry about the cold. We got down to 15° last winter here in southern AL and all of mine came through laying like champs.

Oh yes they are laying like crazy and are happy and healthy!

The black look just like my black australorps. One of the gray ones could be a dark lavender orphington.

I wanted to add that I do add 6-mil plastic around my runs - about 3-feet high for them to have wind protection.
