Nice to hear you're planning to bring chickens back into your life! If you're open to breed suggestions, some great options for beginners are the Rhode Island Red, Sussex, or Orpington. They tend to be hardy and friendly while providing plenty of eggs

Thank you. I had Rhode Island Reds and and Sussex in the past, they were wonderful birds.

It sounds like you’ve got a good crew with your Shih Tzu and the dogs! How’s your travel been recently—any cool trips planned for the future?

Travel has been good, haven't left my state in a while but I have several trips planned within my state for the next two months, lots of shows to be at this time of year.

Wyandottes are also good mothers as well!

Beautiful birds! The only one of my chickens to ever go broody was half wyandotte.
