I had tarp over the coop entrance, with a screened tarp hanging loose in the corner. Can't blame the owl for wanting food and warmth.

I do have one Dominique that is going through a hard molt right now. I feel bad for her. She's almost bald.

I would make sure it can't get in. Sooner or later its going to go after a chicken.

I was thinking the same thing. It'll feel it's at home to be able to go in there when it's older, and then a mouse won't be so interesting.

I'll stop at badger going past my coop.
AND YES... I slept with a loaded firearm that night.

And about the baby Screech Owl... my cousin and I agree about the owl. It was cold, so it probably sought refuse in my coop.

Guess I played "Motel 6" for a brief moment. I did find a couple of dead mice in the coop afterwards.

So let's put this to rest.
