My name is Angela. I have two kids, Jennifer & Daniel. We have 5 cats, 4 chickens and a dog. I've always had a weakness for chickens but I never thought I'd own one. I got my first chicken last spring when my daughter's class hatched some eggs in school. Jenny got to bring one home. We named him Chicken D. We thought he was a hen til he started crowing.

This is my beautiful Rooster Chicken D. He is a gentleman and is very friendly. Can anyone give me a clue to what breed he is?

We also got three more chicks from the local feed store and not knowing anything about chickens, we ended up with two Banty pullets and two roosters, all of unknown breed.

This is Suzie, my little banty. She is currently sitting on a nest of 10 eggs.

This is Marble. He is as arnery as he looks!

And last but not least, little Kiwi enjoying some blue berries. I love her little black boots!

My son and I built a chicken tractor just in time for Chicken D to move in.
They quickly out grew it but I fenced off my tomato garden for extra room to run around.

The tomato garden cage needs a little more work, but they enjoy the extra space.

We've been through alot of trial and error, but to my suprise they are all healthy. But I do have many questions and I am glad to have found such a great forum as BYC. I look forward to lots of good advice. Thank You!

Glad to have you here.

Might want to do some research, I think someone's chicken's ate tomato vines and it killed them. Something about them before they get ripe that they can not eat. It might have just been a coincidence, but you never know.

Hope you enjoy it here.

Thank you all for making me feel welcome.
Don't worry Cammy, they totally ignore the tomato vines, but they do love the tomatoes! They also ate my basil. I think the tomato vines are too repugnant to them.

I've already had alot of fun in this forum, thank you for your kindness.
