New to Chickens

Hi all! I've been reading here for a few weeks. I've wanted chickens for several years but finally live in a place where it would work. They were legal at my old house but only with permission from neighbors and I had one that wouldn't even let my kids play with a ball in our yard so I knew she'd never agree to chickens. Anyhoo, we have 8 chicks (in the house) and 4 hens (in the coop) The chicks are growing like crazy and the whole family is just in love with all of them. I really didn't realize how fun they are to be around. I figured I should probably just join already if I was going to be here reading every day!
