new to chickens

I have never had chickens, but i am wanting to get some. I am going to get some day day old chicks, but I need to know some tips for brooding chicks and some brooder designs...Thanks!

I just used a big rubbermate tub with a light over top that could be moved up and down.

We just used a big, heavy duty carboard box and put a light inside. They are very happy there but will be moving out soon to their tractor.

I will miss their peeps

but now that they are almost 7 weeks old, they need the room.

I changed their bedding every couple of days just to keep it clean and sanitary. I also secured the waterer by running a ziptie through the box and around the waterer. I just slip it off to clean and refill the waterer. Keeps the little darlings from knocking it over!

hard to believe how much u miss the little peepin all the time when they move outside
