New to Chickens

Wow, it is nice to see a real Orpington pro here. The other newbie asked about housing meat and egg birds together. With Orpingtons, I understand we get a little of the best of both worlds!
I have to look for more photos of those jubilee Orpingtons, sound wonderful!

Well, the new girls on the block seem to be eating well and showing off their peeping and vocalizing skills! I had a little fun with them tonight by throwing a Japanese beetle/ asian beetle into their pen. HO,was that fun. I wish I had been able to throw a dozen or so in. But the beetles are usually high up in my shrubs eating them to shreds like crazy, while pullets are down on the ground-- how to get them together? I have not put anything on the shrubs to kill off the beetles, so they are organic pests! I mean, chicken snacks.
