Hi,
About a year ago we saw some chickens at a county fair and i wanted them ever since. We want about 4/5 bantams in our small back garden. Any advice on coops, breeds and any other useful info.
Thanks

Silkies are a great bantam breed. just know that if you get bantams, they will lay very small eggs. I would suggest getting 1-2 Standard breed chickens to lay eggs. The eggs are way better than storebought eggs:) If you do get a couple of standard breeds, i would suggest easter eggers. mine lay extra large eggs every day. For the coop it 1 nesting box for 2-4 chickens. for bantams the chickens need about 8 square feet in the run and 2 square feet in the coop. make sure that when you first move them into the coop, you lock them in there for about a week so they know to go i there at night hope this helps

Thank you but the area is only 3m X 3m (ish) and i am not sure if thats big enough for standard chickens and the coop would stay there is that still ok x

i haven't got the run or coop but the area would be 3m by 3m

I like bantams but i have heard the eggs are really small but i don't want a big chicken, as i have little space. Is there a medium sized chicken suitable for a 3.5m2 area. And any other info would be very helpful
