New to chickens

Hi, my name is Sandy and I am in Cascade, Colorado, just 7 miles up the mountain pass from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
My chicks will be here April 29,2013. As soon as the weather warms up, will start fixing up the old barn on our hill to be chicken coop. We have so many wild animals around us, have to really make it safe.
