(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are new to chickens. My husband and I grew up semi-city kids and we are now living in semi-country.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
The Easter Bunny brought our kids 6 chickens. (late night run on Saturday before Easter...didn't realize you had to buy 6 from TSC)
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have three White Leghorns and three Red Comets (red sex-link)
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I googled how to raise chicks and this kept coming up
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I'm a Girl Scout leader and I love teaching the girls about nature. I love animals and everything to do with all animals. I'm hoping to start taking horseback riding lessons soon too!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share
My husband and I have been married for 15 years. We have 5 kids ranging in age from 4 to almost 13. (4 girls and a boy...he's the oldest). We are working our way to having a zoo with all of our pets. Besides the chickens we have a 14 1/2 year old Husky, three cats, a ball python, a leopard gecko and too many fish to count. I'm a stay at home mom, but I've recently ventured back into the direct sales/home party world with Origami Owl...and I love it! I just wish they'd come out with a chicken charm! I'm so in love with my chickens and my kids laughed at me this morning when I did a crazy happy dance when we found our first egg!!!!!!
