Hello All! I live in Cicero, New York and currently own four black copper marans. I'm extremely new to rearing chickens and at times I have so many questions. I've tried asking my husband's aunt who is very familiar, but at times I'd like to ask others opinions. I first became familiar with backyard chickens when I was looking for chicken answers.

I've had my chickens for about 4 months and they are constantly full of surprises. I work as a paralegal and am currently attending college with a major in business administration. I look forward to the opportunity to interact with those on backyard chickens. Have a great day!!

Hi "New to chickens"

I, too am new to the chickens. my husband and sons have just completed my chicken coop/pen and we will be getting our hens this Saturday. I am really excited about this new venture. I love farm-fresh eggs. we have been getting eggs from these hens for several years and now they are coming to us. I needed lots of advice so I went on line and found you all here! i'm so glad to meet you and I will have plenty of questions. some have already been answered by many of you....thanks for the tips. we live in a small community in southwest Kansas and will be getting 6 hens to begin with. if this works out, we will probably get more, but for now, 6 is all I think I can manage.

it's going to be GREAT to be a part of this society!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I love the chocolate eggs of the Black Copper Marans. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your BCMs.

You could put "Black Copper Marans," in the search box and it may even pop up with a thread about them. Then you could ask breeders themselves for answers to your questions.
