Hello!

I have always wanted chickens! We moved to a 10 acre hobby farm a year ago and I am dying to convert our garden shed (approx. 10X4 ft) into a chicken coop. My husband is working on house renovations, so this is my baby. The question is... with very limited experience will I be able to pull this off!? I'm hoping so!! :)

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here!

Best of luck! We were new to the whole chicken coop thing last year, and completely re floored and re-roofed an old, rooted out coop, we build roosts, nesting boxes and a whole new run, it was pretty hard, but we pulled it off with the help of an experienced family member in the construction industry. I believe you can do this, and if you need any help, just give me a call!! I'll help how I can with all my new-found knowledge ;p

Welcome to Backyard Chickens- hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Check out the coops section for some tips and ideas. Chickens don't need an elaborate coop - just a solid, draft free coop with good ventilation, and an enclosed run with top, to help prevent predator attacks.
