Hello All
My name is Chris and I am new to keeping chickens. I have been reading all of the Info on this site and my Wife and I went and did it. We came home last week with four chick's. A RIR, Barred Rock, Red Sexling and a Black Star. When I started looking for Info I could not believe how much you all know. I am still learning, but so far so good.

Sounds like you have a nice flock started, with those 4 breeds you'll get plenty of eggs.

Welcome to BYC, Chris. Glad you decided join our flock. You have some excellent layers. Black Sex Links (Black Stars) are my favorites. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. They have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can.
