I'm new to raising chicks. I think mine around 5 to 6 weeks old. I've been feeding them medicated crumbles but they seem hungry. When I go to open the coop they are a little aggressive but I think they are hungry. I put some grass in there and they went crazy I have also put meal worms on also. When do I need to stay feeding them different good and what kind.

Hello and welcome!
Hope you fall in love with this website as much as I have<3
Such a sweet community here and everyone is so very helpful!

How are you feeding them? You should leave feed out for them to eat as much as they want until they are full!! They will eat whenever they are hungry and stop when full. Grass and meal worms are great treats but should only make up 10% of their food intake. How many chicks do you have? Medicated crumbles are fine.
Aggressive as in pecking at you? It may be that they are hungry. Like I said, try leaving feed in maybe a deep dish and let them eat as much as they want then the next day, go out side and see if they are aggressive. If you're trying to keep them as pets you can sit next to their pen and let them get accustomed to you. Eventually, they'll jump on you to investigate!

Feed should be fed as follows:
Newly Hatched to 6 weeks - Starter
6 weeks - 20 weeks - Grower
After that they should be fed Layer feed.

Welcome to BYC. Be careful with the grass, long blades can cause impacted crops. If they are eating things apart from their chick feed, they will need grit unless you allow them outside where they can find small stones, as they need them.
