Hi from PA!

Dogs & chickens are often a bad mix. My chickens are larger in size than either of my chihuahuas, but I'd never leave the dogs unsupervised around my chickens. My father's dog is a mix about the size of a small cocker spaniel... I think she'd take out my hens before I could blink my eyes. Be careful!

thanks everyone! Maximus (the lab) is my shadow and already learning to not bother with the chicks although he is very curious they are ever left alone together. We got 3 silkies this afternoon! can not beleive how small they are! Here are some pics with what names we have already, if anyone has any idea of what they are please let me know. THanks and if anyone has any suggestions for the nameless ones please help me. I have a very bad memory so something that is easy . . . First the newest babies . . . .

from SoCal. The middle chicks look like an EE and a Buff Orpington. Don't know about the others.

My Golden Retriever was interested in the chicks when I first got them but she quickly understood that they were mine and not hers. Just had to remind her a few times and with my second "crop" of chicks she now hardly bats an eye at them.
