Hi,
I raised meat chickens for 4-h as a teen and recently decided to get some chicks for my kids to enjoy and of course the fresh eggs. I have found this site to be extremely useful in helping me to get started. We started our small flock with 6 ISA brown pullets and 6 black australorps, they were straight run, the jury is still out on some of them!

Hope you have more pullets than cockerels

I think the one on the far left is a roo, there's one more that looks like that one, but I couldn't get a good pic of him. Of my 6 Black Australorps, I think I only have 2 Roos. What do you guys think?

Welcome to our flock!

Glad you could join BYC.

Congratulations on your new birds! You've picked out two excellent breeds that should have good temperaments and be very good layers. It does look like one of your Australorps is a cockerel, but all the others appear to be pullets. For sure, the ISA Browns are pullets.

Good luck with your chicks!
