My chicks have arrived the first of August and I got quite a surprise!! The company I ordered from usually sends an extra chick and I requested it to be a wellie rooster. So, instead of getting 5 welsummer pullets and maybe a welsummer cockerel, I got 6 pullets plus my cockerel that I requested! I ordered them from Purely Poultry and am very impressed with their company! They even dyed my little guy's chin to let me know which was the male of the group. I never heard of a company doing that before and neither did my neighbors (who also added to my order since they wanted to expand their flock and I only wanted 5 chicks), and the chicks arrived very vibrant and healthy despite being shipped halfway across the country. I have only come up with three names of my flock of seven:

1. Chanticleer- cockerel (the rooster in the movie "Rock-a-Doodle")
2. Summer- pullet
3. Maybelline- pullet

I have a runt in the group and thinking of a name for her. Once some of their personalities blossom, naming the rest them will be more fun and eaiser.

PS: If want to order chicks, turkeys, or geese, I highly recommend Purely Poultry!!
