1) 1 drake per 3 girls is fine the eggs should be fertilized.
2) Ducks will virtually eat anything you can still feed them bread just dont make it a staple food.
3) The create would possibly work. Any square box around 12x12 or bigger would work you dont want it to high im gonna say 6 to 8 inches max for them getting in and out. Not saying they wont get in and out of a bigger one but best to keep it as low as possible.
4)Leaves are fine while avaliable to you i would think you would have to clean them more often though they wouldnt be to absorbant.
5) You dont ducks are gonna do this no matter what you do only thing you can do is change it they dont mind its just a bit off food in there normally anyhow. If you find they are splashing it about the coop you can make a waterer in which they can only get there heads inside to drink but they always must be able to get full head submursed in water.
I hate leaves in the coop. I can say that already. Going to switch to something else for sure. LOL.
I have a bowl for the water, Its close to the door, where spilt water will drain out to the ground and not into the coop. The food is up on a brick so they don't get that soiled. So far so good.
I gave them the pea treatment today. THAT was great. Totally loved them. They really are cute little things.
On #5, I keep duck enclosure right next to the garden, so all the water I have to constantly change runs downhill straight to the corn. Corn takes a ton of fertilizer, too, which the ducks are happy to produce.
