I am getting three ducks come May and was wondering several things. I am needing to know what everyone uses for their feeder and if one is better than another. I am also wondering what type of water unit is best for them. I am currently building a duck house and a run to our backyard pond, but just thought someone could give me a bit of their advice. I have read all of the postings on different feeders, but, need to make a decision on one.
I am also interested in what everyone feeds their ducks, I know they like greens, but what do some of you feed them. Please let me know as I am very new to the duck keeping. Thanks.

In my opinion the feeder isn't really that important. They'll eat out of anything, and make a mess of it no matter what. I use a round metal can feeder with a lip at the bottom. Basically it's gravity-fed. Works fine. I do not have food inside the coop.

Water is another issue entirely. Inside the coop I use poultry nipples attached to 2-liter bottles. Much less splashing and mess that way. Outside you should have a water source they can dip their heads in. A pool is nice if you have room.

As for what to feed - mine get layer feed and then they free range daily. Never had luck giving them greens, but they go crazy for worms and small fish.

Thank you for the information. They will have a pond to swim in and do whatever. Their duck house has a walkout to it. I just was not sure if I needed an additional water source inside the house. Thanks for your information it was very helpful.
