I am intending on going to my TSC tomorrow and getting a couple of ducks. I have a big plastic tote I will use as a broader for them. I need some info on general care. What should I us as a feeder an for water? What food? I have medicated chick starter an I also have some flock raiser. Do they need a separate thing of water to "bathe" with. Also, what about. Heat lamp? Do I use. 250 watt red bulb, or can I use a regular 100 watt halogen bulb?

ANY help will b greatly appreciated! Want to give them the love an care my chicks get!:D

U should look on the back of you feed bag of flock and see the age requirements you can use a noramal heat bulb and are the duck going to be in ur house

I am not using medicated starter. I bought a starter for different types of chicks that's for ducks and chicks and turkeys etc. and yes the ducklings are inside. I am just using a regular heat lamp bulb and it's about 24 inches from floor of brooder

For water, I use a Rubbermaid/tupperware container with a fitted top. I cut a hole in the top big enough for their heads to get it. It really reduced the water mess they make. I just use another tupperware with no top for food.

I'm thinking you do need an actual heat light as their brooder should be relatively warm. I don't know the exacts though.

Here is a picture of my setup. My ducks are a few days over 3 weeks old.

How deep is that Rubbermaid container that the water is in? Is it square and about 3-4 inches deep.

Well I tried the Rubbermaid container ideas. This is what I got! Lol! They are atill determined to get atleast a foot in the water container! Lol! The rest of the time the are pecking at it with their bills! And dancing in the food!
