New to forum and raising chickens

Howdy!

Looking forward to learning all about raising chickens.

We have a 1 week old chick...

We were told Araucana, but since the eggs were brown, I'm pretty sure it's a mixed breed.

I wanted at least 2 chicks, but the chick came from my son's classroom, and there were others who wanted chicks, so we only got 1 chick. But, once we get past the brooding stage, we'll add more chicks who are about the same age.

from Ohio. What a sweet chick. When I have early hatchers that are alone for a while, I use a feather duster and a mirror in the brooder. They like to cuddle in the feather duster and the mirror makes them think they have a buddy with them. Good luck.
