fldiver97 and Dobie Lover are absolutely correct on the need for predator protection.

Chicken wire only keep chickens in. It is very flimsy, any predator worth it's salt can easily get through it or destroy it.

1/2" Hardware cloth is the gold standard for fencing.
 
Welcome to the forum from a fellow CTer! The biggest thing, depending on where you live in CT, is building your run and coop to be predator safe. The thing is, here in CT, you could be dealing with anything from skunks, possum and raccoons, to fox, coyote, bobcat, neighborhood dogs and bear. Depending on where you are, you have to deal with ALL of it.
