I have been coming to this site and reading all the wonderful advice on here since before I got my first chickens in February, but I just registered. I really like having a good spot to get advice from people with experience, not just "experts".
I jumped in head first when I decided to get chickens. I ordered 20 hens and 4 roosters for my first flock. I now only have 23 Rhode Island Reds, and 18 eggs in the homemade incubator(12 confirmed by candling).
My husband and children think I am nuts, I treat my chickens like family, petting and talking to them. They just don't understand!! I check on them all the time and I talk about them all the time.
I look forward to chatting and sharing with you!
