These are my 1st baby keets. They are at least a month old. They are all feathered out, they seemed to feather out much faster then my little chicks. I have them in the house still with a heat lamp in a baby play pen. I have a wire top on it but they can already fly to the top. When can I put them out in the coop with a lot of full grown hens and ducks? Do I need to build high perches inside the coop or outside? Just don't know what my next step is to do with them so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My roos are not happy with the 9 week old keets and keep chasing them. I free range and just turned 2 of the 5 keets loose yesterday.. All my keets sleep outside, not in a house, so I expect that will continue.. I am building them a hoop coop which will give them shelter but be more like being outside with the front open wire. Next project will be teaching them the hoop coop is where to go at night

yes, you can build them higher perches to roost. they like to perch high in tress when roosting at night.9 or 10 weeks can be better to introduce the keets to adult as that they can manage the war guinea has....

best wishes

you might want to turn off the heat lamp first and see how they do. That way you can tell if they are ok without a heat source outside.
