Hello everyone
Incubated 6 eggs- 5 were viable at lock down. Day 21 two eggs pipped after an extremely long wait we now have two chicks who hatched around 6 am this morning ( after 30 hours) very anxious time . It’s now 11 am and one chick is up and moving around incubator the other is lying and moving on its tummy but has yet to stand up.?? Is it ok?
Also no sign of pipping from other eggs . This is officially day 22. The two first eggs began pipping on day 20. What should I be concerned about/ do?

Hello Chick.gif
Hatching can take a very long time and is exhausting work for the little chicks, so it's not uncommon to see them flopping around right after hatching and then taking extended breaks of rest where they almost look dead, they're just resting. Are the chicks that finished hatching done drying?

No the standing up one is drying quicker than the one lying down.

Is the chick still inactive after hours? Make sure the vents on your incubator are all the way open as well to make sure they're getting proper ventilation. Is it possible to take a picture?
