May 11, 2020
Hello everyone! Can't wait to learn from all of you!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

We have had chickens for about 2 almost 3 years now. Still a lot to learn about the animals as far as I'm concerned. We have recently dove into ducks and turkeys this year as well.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We have 37 Chickens, 22 Ducks, and 23 Turkeys. More coming soon!

(3) What breeds do you have?

We have as followed:
4 Rhode Island Red hens
4 Australorpe hens
2 Easter Egger hens (We think.)
1 Newhampshire Red hen (Strawberry)
1 NHR/RIR rooster (Wonky)
6 Amercauna Hens
4 Speckled Sussex hens (Oldest is Madam.)
1 Amercauna Rooster (Sebastian or Bassy for short.)
4 Amercuana chicks.
10 mixed chicks.

8 Pekin
1 Cayuga
3 Rounen
4 Blue Runner
6 Silver Appleyard

5 BB Whites
5 BB Bronze
2 Blue Slate
4 Narragansett
7 Royal Palms

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

The entertainment they give while they're little. Their behaviors and reactions to different things. Being able to give them the best life possible while recieving the most delicious eggs from them. Overall, having these animals is an amazing experience for my family. Especially my three year old who loves playing with all of the chicks, poults, and ducklings.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Gardening is a huge hobby of mine that I just got into really this year. As well as learning how to build different things that our little homestead needs.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have an adorable three year old who loves to be outside with us when taking care of the animals. A wonderful, hardworking husband who makes all my projects come to life haha. We have 2 German Shepherds, Dovah and Kiaydei. 2 cats, one inside and one feral. Inside cat is Marlow and feral cat is Rahja (also known as tiny.) 4 Goats. 2 Nubian/ Nigerian mixes and 2 Saanen/Nigerian mixes. 2 Silver fox rabbits. Our doe is Onyx. Our buck is Cobalt.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found this community while looking for information on different things. And just decided to join one day and make myself apart of it! :)

Pictures of animals:

Before I cleaned their pool out. They make it so gross!

Snickers, Jerry, Cream, and Cookie

Dovah 5 months old.

The day we got our BB turkeys and Silver Appleyard ducks. We unfortunately lost the male, yesterday. The one with the orange spot above it's bill was the male. I separated them when I got them. They were all together at first.

Our turkeys we got on a deal from Cackle.

Some of our 10 chicks we hatched in the incubator. 10/13. This was our first try at incubating and personally feel we did extremely well. Two eggs were unfertilized and one died before it was able to hatch.

Not all my animals, but I need recent pictures of the others.
