Hello Everyone,
I am new to raising chickens. I've been at it for almost a year. My aunt gave my son (who's 2 1/2 now) 2 chicks for Easter last year.
We now have 9 chickens. 8 hens and 1 rooster. We have 1 Barred Rock, 1 Isa Brown, 3 Olive Eggers, and 3 Easter Eggers, 2 barnyard mix (Rooster Roo is barnyard mix).
Having chickens is teaching my little man many things. We are learning about the cycle of life, taking care of animals, and responsibility.
Aside from the chickens, we have a small farm. We are a young family and are trying to learn more about homesteading. We also have dogs, cats, horses, and cows.
I wanted to become a member of this community because I find I am always turning here for information. So far it has helped me set up a coop and winter chickens for the first time.
