Just wanted to show off (and stop annoying my family with non stop photos xD ) my little girls.

They are 7 weeks old today, and finishing up their first week outside in their own coop (still having to put them inside the coop, as they still aren’t getting it, ha)

Ive got 2 Sicilian buttercups (Betty & Wilma), one speckled Sussex (Annie) and a Golden sex link (Audrey Henburn)

Oh yes, they are still locked in their coop. I haven’t let them out into the run yet, and am nervous to do so, they are quite little still compared to my adult birds. I’m thinking another 1-2 weeks in their coop (it’s a TSC coop with a caged in “run” beneath the coop, totally safe from the big birds)

They stay perched outside the coop part when it gets dark, so I’ve been having to put them in to bed each night. Maybe tonight’s the night they put themselves to bed 🤞🏼 Sweet little girls

I am confused. What is this "outside the coop part" that is still in the coop? Could you take a picture that will make this clearer?

If you do this for a couple of nights they will eventually get it and go in on their own... I don’t like the idea of locking them up in the sleeping area for days on end... they need to play on the grass..
They are so cute.. I want some Buttercups 💕

Not at home, but this is a photo I have to kind of show what I’m talking about. It’s so they can be with the adults with some safety. Coop/run thingy do from TSC.

But yay, thank you! The buttercups are so sweet. Well they all are :D

For clarification, they aren’t locked in the sleeping area, I only shut the door over night to keep them in. (This forum is a little tricky on my mobile)

I see what you are doing. I would still consider the underneath of the coop as part of the run rather than the coop.

You might try putting a small light in the coop. The birds might be uncomfortable going into a dark space in the evening. Chickens do no see very well in the dark and might be avoiding going into the coop due to the darkness.
