new to meat chickens, help!

We did 15 broilers (X's) last year and so loved them that we're getting 100 this weekend. Some for us, some to sell. I would feed them from sunup to sundown and then remove the feed (not the water) overnight. I talked to them just like I talk to my hens. We used a hoop coop tractor and moved it to fresh unmowed grass everyday. A farmer had given me 15 out of his stock as he had too many...the same farmer offered to help butcher mine. My birds...much bigger, much healthier looking. He asked me what the he** I did to them...I said nothing special...just raised on love and kindness. My birds averaged 5 to 6.5 lbs, we butchered them at exactly 8 weeks. Excellent experience. We raised 10 bronze breasted turkeys too. We loved our little hobby farm so much that we've decided to really expand...and filed a DBA -- Just Wingin' It Poultry Farm -- cause that's really what we're doing! Enjoy!
