I am so happy to have found this site! I feel like I now belong to a growing community of fellow fowl family members. My family and I recently sold our condo in Santa Cruz, Ca. and bought a home in Tenmile, Oregon. I was really hoping to have chickens for eggs once we moved, and the property even already came with a chicken coop! I love it here, though I am an ocean girl at heart, and we now live about 1 hour and 20 minutes away from the Oregon coast. So I will miss my quick trips to my favorite sea glass hunting beaches in Santa Cruz. I make jewelry from the Sea Glass and stones I comb from the beaches. But I also enjoy the country living, with the hills, trees, pastures, no traffic or crowds. It's peaceful and beautiful out here.
So, now that we have the land with a coop, I am delving into this learning process.
In the meantime, I also have an English Bulldog, 11 years old, two cats, a bunny that also came with the property, a 13 year old boy, a 25 year old daughter who lives in the Santa Cruz area, and a retired husband.
I hope to work for the Roseburg Forest Products company once I'm settled in here in our new home.
Thanks for adding me and I look forward to getting to know more of you and about chickens!
