Hello wonderful community....
Have some japanese quails that have been in good health so far, but as of 5 days ago one of them started to be...odd.
It puffs itself up a bit, staggers slightly when walks (and falls over once in a while) and it's wings are semi extended and appear to be to help it balance? Had a good appetite, is still friendly to me, enjoys being handled and moves around the enclosure as the others do just a bit unsteadily.
It does seem to get more attention than the other ladies from the boy quail however?
From what I can tell, it might be low key sick? Have isolated it from the others and it's being fed feed, mealworms and oregano and resting up.
Does anyone have good resources to learn more about how to ID illness?
Any good lists of things that can boost their immune system when ill?
Any tips on what could be wrong or what to do to help?
Thank you.
p.s. Birdflu cases are nill in Scotland (where I am) currently, but we had a bad wave over winter.
