Do use care with your dog being around chickens, some dogs really have a strong hunting instinct. Though I have read about cats killing chickens my own experience has been that mine ignore them but, then again they are both "older" cats. Hawks and coons have been our problem predators.

from Ohio. So glad you joined. Build your own coop and run. It doesn't have to be fancy just secure, especially at night. Depending on your perticular dog, it may have to be trained to leave the chickens alone. Good luck.
