New to raising chickens. Any recommendations

Have everything ready before you get chickens.

When planning, allow for more space than you think you will need.

Choose a coop that is practical over pretty (easy to clean and access).

Keep nesting areas away from perching areas.

Keep stuff clean (sand in runs is great for making this easy. So are dropping boards installed in the coop).

Chickens need to dust bathe to keep their feathers free of external parasites so make sure you have dry dirt nearby throughout the year.

Accept that chicken math is real.

Best wishes to you and your peeps! :jumpy

There are thousands of posts with tips, start reading ;)
I spent 6 months reading here and other places before I started building my coop, which took about 4 months. Coop was complete before I brought any birds on board.

Very good points.
