This is what I am looking for . Chickens Hatched from Organically fed chickens . No CORN fed ... no GMO genetically modified food. Must be Eggs producers.NO injections...

We want to get into raising chickens for eggs and eating them too... We want organically fed chickens. I am looking for people that sell organically fed chickens. Also I have a couple of questions . What is the difference in the breeds of the chickens.. some produce better eggs? some better eating ? Please email me any info.. How many nest boxes do we need ? one a chicken or do they share.. ? Also is it hard hatching them out ? Sorry so many questions I am new to this and want to succeed the first time. What is the best organic food for them ? Do they need a perch and does the fence need to be covered ? Thanks in advance ....

We live in southern NH . So we are looking for COLD weather birds...

If you are looking for locally produced chickens, I've found craigslist to be very helpful! This site has been an invaluable tool for me when considering different chicken breeds:

Chickens do well sharing a nest. Usually about one nest per 4-5 girls is enough. It is not difficult to hatch eggs if you have a broody hen or incubator. They would appreciate roosts, and wether or not you cover your run will depend on your location, when your chickens use it, and what types of predators you have in your area.

There is a lot of great info here, and friendly people. Your best bet is to read read read the forums. Nice to have you here!
