Hi, I'm not sure if I'm using this site or raising my chicks right either, but I'm giving both a shot. I bought 6 leghorns and 6 road island reds (might be too many to start off with) but they all seems healthy and happy thanks too a lot of great tips I have read on this site! My question is when can I start giving them treats? They r almost 4 weeks, I want to give them some plain sugar free yogurt because one seems to have sticky butt, I also bought scratch and mealworms, r they to young?

Not sure why no response must be doing something wrong or just a stupid question!

! Pleased you joined our community! Sounds to me like you are doing both right - and yes, your chickens can have some treats - they will love meal worms! Mine have a love/hate relationship with yogurt (some love it, some won't touch it). They will like a little scratch as well. Maybe some green peas or something like that as well. Good luck to you!

Hello and welcome from Ohio.....so glad you joined BYC

Good luck with your new chicks. Someday you will be rolling in the egg business!

And while your feeling your way thru using the site, post some pics if you can. We love pics :)

please keep an eye on the chick with pasty butt. You want to make sure the chick is able to poo . You could use damp cotton balls to wipe him clean and then pat it dry .
