They look like real Lavender Orpingtons.I posted some pics of my new chicks and just want to make sure they are lavender orpingtons they were labeled as sex link lavender orphingtons and apparently the sex link was incorrect so I hope they are actually lavender Orpington
The could be sex link if dad was lavender and mom was lavender barred/cuckoo. but I think that's the only way. And barred lavender isn't very common. The look like lavender orphingtons, no reason to think they're not yet.I thought that was odd and hoped they were a cross that could be sex link I may have 4 cockerels wondering if they are even lavender orphingtons
Thank you, doubt I could get that lucky so I may be building a boys only run in the near futureLavender orps are not sex link, as far as I know
Edit. I fiddled with kippenjungle.nl, I think you can if the sire is lavender and the Dame lavender barred/cuckoo.
Welcome to BYC!! It all looks great!Hi I’m Nicole and other than raising 6 sexlink hens from tractor supply and giving them away before they started laying I have no experience. Currently I have three laying hens a Plymouth barred Rock, Possibly gray Americauna, possibly Buff Orpington and a beautiful Lavender Orpington roo. I just purchased 4 Lavender Orpington sex link chicks and was wondering how they can be sex link.View attachment 3239207View attachment 3239207View attachment 3239212View attachment 3239215View attachment 3239240
