Welcome to BYC!!Hello!
I’m a noob to raising chickens but I’ve always wanted to have my own little flock for eggs.
I currently have 4 1 month old Ameraucanas (3 white splash and 1 wheaten) and 1 3 week old black australorp. They’re still inside but I’m hoping to transition them to their outside coop next week.
I have an enclosed backyard space for them to roam around so I think that will be nice.
I’m (not so) patiently waiting to see if I have a roo in the mix. I’m leaning towards keeping him if he’s not too noisy but they are illegal in my city
I’ve been having a lot of fun figuring out next steps as I go. Especially alternative/easier ways to do things. Like I’m a big fan of the vertical water nipples and have a modified soup container in my brooder right now with some installed.
I also didn’t know chicks are dusty AF
I’ve been lurking the backyard chickens site for a while so I’m excited to maybe post a few questions/photos and continue to learn!
