I'm the proud mother of 6 Buff Orpington hens that are now 6+ months old. Four of them have just recently started laying. The other two, despite intensive counseling, are refusing to participate. I have a light on for two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening. I think that I may be overfeeding them and wonder if that could restrict the egg laying. What do you think?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Buffs are wonderful birds! ❤ Adding light really isn't good for them, the other two probably aren't mature yet. The longer they take to lay, the better. Too many breeds that lay too early have reproductive issues. Come spring, they should all be laying well. Enjoy your birds!
