New to raising chickens

Hi,
I am new to raising chickens. I have 3 hens (Lola, Layla and Lily) and 1 rooster (Larry Bird). They are all Cochins. I have raised them since they were about 3 days old. They are now almost 5 months old. I have heard so much conflicting info on Cochins. Some say they are great layers, others say they are poor layers. Some say if their combs and waddles are pale (which mine are), they are poor layers.

I think cochins are fairly good layers when they aren't broody, but they tend to be broody quite a bit.
