hello ya"ll, my husband and I are new to raising chickens and we are glad to have found this site.....have had several questions and have been lucky so far in finding out the answers from other places......we now are the owners of the worlds most expensive egg......after having a coop built, fencing, chickens and feed, and waiting for a couple of months, we finally got 1 egg.....we don't know what to do with it....we have had several suggestion from family and friends.....they all have to do with cooking it....lol.....for now we just go to the refridgerator and admire it......we are looking forward to learning all we can to keep rocky the rooster and the girls happy......thanks, shirley aka nanny.....

Hello and welcome to BYC! Enjoy your egg

After several minutes of squealing, "WE HAVE AN EGG! WE HAVE AN EGG!" I just had to cook the first one to see how dark the yolk was and each member of the family got 1 bite of the small 1.25 oz egg. My daughter still recalls to people how mommy screamed when I found the first egg. Enjoy it!

Welcome to BYC from VA. As a recent member, I have found the community helpful and knowledgeable. The first egg I got was the prettiest little thing. Enjoy the marvels of really tasty-fresh eggs.
