New to raising Chickens!

Howdy! My name is Makenzie and I live right outside of downtown Dallas,TX. Yesterday a teacher gifted me with 3 baby chicks that hatched on Monday (4-20-2015). She thinks they are Ameraucana chickens, which so far the reviews I've read have been pretty much mixed both positive and negative. Nonetheless I am very excited to have chickens! Any advice is more than welcomed!
