I bought Rouen ducks on June 10th from tractor supply I think they may have been 2 weeks old already based on my google searches. They currently hangout at the pond during the day and at night I bring them inside in a large dog charge with pine shavings.. I’m trying to build them some kind of duck house, but I’m scared because animals have been killed by predators here before. They are beautiful and I love them so much! They follow me around a lot but don’t like to be touched. How old do you think they are? If anyone has any tricks or tip, I would love to here them😊

Welcome. Oh my, they are so cute. Whatever you build, make a hardware cloth apron around it. This will prevent digging animals. You secure at the building and then run to the ground and out about 2-feet. Any ventilation or openings need to be secured with hardware cloth also. If you want them safely in a run, make it from 1/2 inch hardware cloth.

I have a 8x10 shed I was going to try to make into a home for them, I will have to do some research about how to make it the safest and best for them. I’ve never heard of a cloth apron so I appreciate the advice! I will look it up

They look about 5 weeks old to me. There are helpful articles in the learning center part of this site, look for ducks :)
